Make Shift Coffee House: Can Civility Save Us?

October 31

October 31st, 12-1:30pm Are you unsure what role in civil discourse you should play in order to bring change or make peace? What should the correct response be to troubling political trends? Not sure if you should tweet, protest or vote? If so, join us at the Wells Reserve for a Make Shift Coffee House led by public policy expert, Craig Freshley, where Craig will lead a discussion on how civility in politics is eroding and how the party divide is growing. He will share lessons learned from his own experiences with moderating discussions among conservatives and liberals. Craig has facilitated over 3,000 meetings almost entirely in the public sector for nonprofits, community groups, and governments. He has written a book called The Wisdom of Group Decisions and has a Master’s Degree in Public Policy. He has worked for a statewide nonprofit and for Maine's state government and has published over 100 how-to videos, 160 one-page tips, and 25 handouts — all about group dynamics and all available for free. Free admission. Wells Reserve at Laudholm. wellsreserve.org.
